A host, an expert on the subject, invite you to discover the Monumental Site of la Mota Fortress. Located on a magical site at 1,033 metres above sea level, this place was the key, guard and defence of the kingdoms of Castile. We invite you to explore within its walls. Go through the doorways, its buildings and rooms. Your ticket will include a descriptive plan and guide. The visit includes an interesting film on the Abbey Church that tells you more about the history of the place. The visit continues at the Abbey Palace (no hosted), located on the central street of Carrera de las Mercedes. Its various halls enable the visitor to become acquainted with the heritage and past of the city of Alcalá la Real. Special mention must be made of the “Tesorillo” and the Roman sculpture of Hercules, as well as the remains of prehistoric tombs. An interesting audio guide (in several languages) will accompany you at this part of the visit.
